Who We Are

IntersexEdu was founded by Noi Liang, a Board Certified Patient Advocate (BCPA) with 15+ years of specialized experience in education, advocacy, support and healthcare navigation for people with intersex variations and differences of sex development (DSD).

Noi is an intersex woman who has been personally engaged in intersex support and community advocacy since 2010. That lived experience — combined with her professional credentials — is what makes IntersexEdu's work distinctive. She doesn't just understand the clinical landscape. She understands what it means to navigate it firsthand.

Noi collaborates with intersex community members, support and advocacy organizations, and healthcare providers to deliver education, advise on care and policy, and contribute to research and programs that meaningfully improve outcomes for people with these variations.

Noi's credentials

• Board Certified Patient Advocate (BCPA) since 2020

• Lead Patient Advocate at Children's Hospital Colorado's interdisciplinary clinic since 2012

• Intersex/DSD Task Force at the American Psychological Association (APA) since 2018

• Consultant on several major institutionally driven health projects that aim to improve the psychosocial health of people with DSD/intersex variations

• Speaker for organizations including the North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, Society for Pediatric Urologists (SPU), International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health, National Society of Genetic Counselors, and Pediatric Endorcine Society.
